When buying any property it is important to know the current
condition of the drainage system, as there may be potentially
defective drains, which can be costly to fix. With so many
properties having had extensions over the years, their effects
may have damaged the drainage and underground pipe work.
Correcting collapsed, dropped and cracked drains can be
expensive if buying a property, so think about having a CCTV
survey carried out to establish their condition.
The responsibility for the pre purchase survey lies with
the potential new buyer. In a full property survey, the
condition of the drainage remains unknown beyond the manhole
access point. However, Drain Master is here to help, please
call to organise one of our engineers to conduct a pre purchase
survey. We provide the CCTV video that we record onto a DVD and
a Wincam survey to report our findings.
Common problems found can include:- collapsed pipes and drains
- broken seals on pipe joints
- broken drains
- infiltrations- tree roots can grow into and block the
pipe work
Pre-purchase surveys are a very cost effective way of getting
piece of mind on your potential new purchase and can allow you
to negotiate your price on the property, should we find any
problems.
Property pre purchase surveys cost from £300 +VAT |
